Therapeutic uses of ultrasound in dogs

It is one of the most used tools in the physiotherapy area, they are acoustic waves of much higher frequencies that humans cannot detect, at the frequency with which ultrasound works is 1×10 Hertz, this means that a Mega -Hercio are not audible by any species.

Ultrasound is used especially in veterinary hospitals for echographic examinations that use the same type of wave. The differentiating factor is the power, frequency and application time.

In applied areas such as tendons, joints or inflamed muscles, great results can also be obtained in acute injuries as well as chronic injuries, as long as the correct configurations are applied for the procedure.

When fibrosis occurs in the different soft tissues: muscles, tendons or ligaments, we can apply continuous ultrasound and then pulsating at maximum power so we will find a good fibrosis effect.

Continuous ultrasound generates heat due to the vibration of the molecules and both the pulsating and continuous ultrasound increase the permeability of the membrane, which is what favors the anti-inflammatory effect together with the mobilization of the molecules.

Indications:

Ultrasounds can be used in any pathology of the dog that presents symptoms of joint or soft tissue pain, such as tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis, contusions or significant bruises.
